Background information Due to alternative splicing events, GalNAc-T1, GalNAc-T1 catalyzes the first reaction in O-linked oligosaccharide biosynthesis, GalNAc-T1 uses calcium and manganese as cofactors, also known as GALNT1 (Polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase 1), contains a stem region and a C-terminal ricin/lectin-like domain, is a ubiquitously expressed 559 amino acid single-pass type II membrane protein that localizes to the Golgi apparatus and, like other GalNAc-Ts, namely the transfer of an N-acetyl-D-galactosamine residue to a protein acceptor, thereby initiating mucin-type O-linked glycosylation in the Golgi apparatus, two GalNAc-T1 isoforms are expressed, The UDP-N-acetyl-alpha-D-galactosamine:polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase (GalNAc-T) family of enzymes are substrate-specific proteins that catalyze the transfer of GalNAc (N-acetylgalactosamine) to serine and threonine residues onto various proteins

Advisory For antibodies that are in liquid form or reconstituted lyophilized antibodies small amounts could become entrapped on the seal or the walls of the tube, Prior to use briefly centrifuge the vial to gather all the solution on the bottom, specificity and sensitivity, thus reducing its reactivity, Avoid freeze/thaw cycles as they may denaturate the polypeptide chains of the antibody
PropertiesFor facs or microscopy Alexa 1 conjugate
ConjugationAlexa Fluor
GroupPolyclonals and antibodies
About The advantage is that there are more epitopes available in a polyclonal antiserum to detect the proteins than in monoclonal sera, immunohistochemistry on frozen slices or parrafin fixed tissues, Polyclonals can be used for Western blot
