Background information Defects in the gene encoding GCDH are the cause of glutaric acidemia type I (GA-I), Existing as a homotetramer, GCDH uses FAD as a cofactor to catalyze the oxidative decarboxylation of glutaryl-CoA to crotonyl-CoA and CO(2) in the degradative pathway of L-lysine, L-hydroxylysine and L-tryptophan metabolism, While GCDH exists as both a long and short isoform, an autosomal recessive disorder that is characterized by the accumulation of glutaconic acid and is associated with such symptoms as progressive dystonia and athetosis due to gliosis and neuronal loss in the basal ganglia, only the long isoform is a functionally active protein, GCDH is a 438 amino acid protein that localizes to the mitochondrial matrix and belongs to the acyl-CoA dehydrogenase family

Advisory For antibodies that are in liquid form or reconstituted lyophilized antibodies small amounts could become entrapped on the seal or the walls of the tube, Prior to use briefly centrifuge the vial to gather all the solution on the bottom, specificity and sensitivity, thus reducing its reactivity, Avoid freeze/thaw cycles as they may denaturate the polypeptide chains of the antibody
PropertiesFor facs or microscopy Alexa 1 conjugate
ConjugationAlexa Fluor
GroupPolyclonals and antibodies
About The advantage is that there are more epitopes available in a polyclonal antiserum to detect the proteins than in monoclonal sera, immunohistochemistry on frozen slices or parrafin fixed tissues, Polyclonals can be used for Western blot
