Background information Defects in the gene encoding SUMF1 are the cause of multiple sulfatase deficiency (MSD), Expressed ubiquitously with highest expression in liver, SUMF1 exists as either a monomer, a heterogeneous disorder characterized by metachromatic leukodystrophy, a homodimer or a heterodimer (with SUMF2) and functions to oxidize sulfatase cysteine residues to an active FGIy residue, chondrodysplasia punctata, hydrocephalus, ichthyosis, kidney and pancreas, mucopolysaccharidosis, neurologic deterioration and developmental delay, thereby playing an important role in sulfatase activity, SUMF1 is a 374 amino acid alternatively spliced protein that localizes to the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum and belongs to the sulfatase-modifying factor family

Advisory For antibodies that are in liquid form or reconstituted lyophilized antibodies small amounts could become entrapped on the seal or the walls of the tube, Prior to use briefly centrifuge the vial to gather all the solution on the bottom, specificity and sensitivity, thus reducing its reactivity, Avoid freeze/thaw cycles as they may denaturate the polypeptide chains of the antibody
PropertiesFor facs or microscopy Alexa 1 conjugate
ConjugationAlexa Fluor
GroupPolyclonals and antibodies
About The advantage is that there are more epitopes available in a polyclonal antiserum to detect the proteins than in monoclonal sera, immunohistochemistry on frozen slices or parrafin fixed tissues, Polyclonals can be used for Western blot
